Saddest of Divorces

Salli's Divorce Support Blog

The more pervasive the effects of pornography, the more divorce we will see--in and out of the Church. In our recent stake conference our president announced over the pulpit, "We are losing the battle with pornography."

Sad, but true.

So, what will become of the broken marriage, the family without a father in the home, and the woman without a worthy priesthood holder? The immediate answer to these questions may appear frightening and uncertain, but there is good news!

The Lord always knew that you would "come to the place where thou art at this time." (D&C 6:14.) He foresaw this day and He has a plan for you!

As an apostle, Ezra T. Benson said in October of 1974 (I remember hearing him as a BYU student!): "Yet, of all people, we as Latter-day Saints should be the most optimistic and the least pessimistic. For while we know that "peace shall be taken from the earth, and the devil shall have power over his own dominion," we also know that "the Lord shall have power over the saints, and shall reign in thier midst." (D&C 1:35-36.)

You do not need to fear about your future. When we daily take the Lord by the hand our future will unfold beautifully and as easily as breathing. Speaking as one who's marriage ended due to pornography ten years ago, my divorced life got better every step of the way.

There may be moments of doubt and scarcity, but they will only last a moment. Ahead of you is love, happiness and security. I guarantee it. Keep moving forward.
