Believe in God

Salli's Divorce Support Blog

We continue to enjoy our mission in Cambodia. This week-end we witnessed the formation of the first two stakes here - the North Phnom Penh Cambodia Stake and the South Phnom Penh Cambodia Stake. What an amazing, exciting time for the wonderful s'magic (s'magic - the Khmer word for members) here in this area. I feel incredibly blessed to be 'in this place at this time'.

I don't think a lot about divorce while serving my mission. Funny how serving the Lord full-time takes a lot of things out and away from your mind, as you focus your attention on His work. In a way it's good to know, after experiencing a divorce, that you can get past all that and move on to other more uplifting and enjoyable involvements.

A good life lesson about how life can go on. Divorce now, to me, seems like a book I read a long,  long time ago. It will for you someday, too.

Before I sign off I want to share my current favorite scripture with you. I say 'current' because if I simply said 'favorite' it wouldn't be true! I have so many scriptures I love! Richard G. Scott challenged us to memorize passages from the standard works a few years ago, telling us they would become our friends. I have accepted his challenge and have learned for myself that he is right - the scriptures I have memorized over the past two years have been my friends; friends that offer peace, hope, rest, and courage when I need it. Thank you, Elder Scott.

Here is my most recently acquired 'friend' :

Mosiah 4:9 - "Believe in God, believe that He is, and that He created all things both in heaven and in earth; believe that He has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man cannot comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend."

Success in life? It's that simple. Believe in God.
