Facing Reality During Divorce

Salli's Divorce Support Blog

From DivorceSupportGroupsBlog.com

"It takes two to tango and the reality is that two people occupy a marriage. This makes you both co-creators of the marriage and the divorce. Do you have good evidence that your ex is at fault? Consider that you refused to see or acknowledge the warning signs along the way and are in denial. Being responsible means being rigorously honest with yourself. To help you out with this, consider getting feedback and reflection from members of your community that witnessed different aspects of you, your partner, and the relationship. If you do this, I assert you will learn valuable information that will fill out your limited perspective of reality. Although often a shocking and unpleasant experience, receiving this feedback and reflection is ultimately liberating and empowering. Healing the pain of divorce to create a new life requires you to upgrade your relationship to reality and face where you have been in denial."
